A couple of days ago, David Graham, the manager of the West Salem Courthouse, sent me an email. David takes Group Ride in the mornings (the really really early mornings) at the West Club. He rode on Veteran’s Day and experienced something he wanted to share.

I took the 5:15AM Group Ride class on Veteran’s Day. There were about 35 people there. During class, any veterans who were there were asked to identify themselves. All the early birds that I get to work out with all gave a big applause for those who had served our country.

It was neat to have this community of exercise recognize their fellow exercises and honor them in such a special way.

As Thanksgiving approaches, I think about what I am thankful for and this email comes to mind. I am thankful to be a part of a place that is full of such wonderful people. Our backgrounds and our goals are all a little different, but the aim is the same: freedom.
