Imagine, Train, Do: April Bezenah

Inspiration. I have been blessed over the last two years to have my own life greatly impacted by the strength of this word. I am even lucky enough to work at a company whose motto is based on such a powerful word.

I am thankful that the work I do for Courthouse Fitness allows me to inspire others with my story of pain, endurance, determination, and inspiration which has led me to be healthier and happier. But, I am even luckier that in doing so I meet others on a daily basis who inspire those around them in so many ways.

I was, am, and continue to be inspired by a woman named April. She’s a true kid at heart. She has a passion for living life and an amazing story, a story that started with determination and drive–a goal (the ‘imagine’ in our mission statement). She then started training (mission statement word two), and is now doing (mission statement word three).

For April, doing means a lot of things: working out (and loving it), hiking, and cycling with her husband. It also means no longer needing to take medications to control her diabetes, which has completely vanished since her incredible weight loss and nutrition regimen change. It means less trips to the doctor, less money spent on medical bills and prescriptions. This means more money spent on a new wardrobe for a fit body that is literally half the size it once was.

I have seen a huge change in April over the last year. I have seen this change as we have taken Group Active together and as she has taken the Active class that I instruct. She’s no longer the shy girl in the back of class anymore. She is proud of herself and what she has accomplished all while being humble and never taking anything for granted. She has a bright smile on her face every time I see her and eyes that show happiness, pride and true joy, a type of joy that did not shine as bright in years past. It shines bright now.

April is a true inspiration. She inspires me as an Instructor and as a friend. She inspires her co-workers. She is an inspiration to everyone that sees her daily dedication to fitness. It is a true inspiration to see someone work hard and  achieve such amazing results while having so much fun that each lights up when April enters.

WOW !! She is a great friend of mine, who iam so very proud of. I dont see much of her any more but it is amazing every time i do, she looks awesome and is such a different person, in a good way. I need to take all that new found energy and bottle it up. She has worked very hard to get there. She is so into her new way of life that no one will ever take that away from her and I know she will stay that way because once she sets her mind to something there is no stoping her!!! Besides who would want to. She is a amazing person and even more so now that she has a better self esteem. You go Go Go girl !!!!!
