Zults: Tracey Lee
Describe the day before you started Zults War.
I was excited the day before Zults started…. I was looking forward to positive changes in my life. I tried to just focus on preparing myself and put my mind in a positive place to succeed.
Did you have any fears or misgivings about what you were about to do?
I was apprehensive to face the reality of how poor my health had become in the past 3 years, and I was not wanting to see the number on the scale or see what my body fat percentage had climbed to. I have most of my life been an athlete in good physical shape, but some health issues stopped me from continuing and I was worried about trying to get back to that state of health and fitness.
Was it important for you to work on a team?
Being on a team was important because there is a built in support system and accountability partners which all increased my chances of succeeding at my goals. It was also good to be in a role of encouraging others and sharing tips and working out together. Fitness doesn’t feel like work when you do it with friends.
Tell me about a time that you had to rely on the support of your team.
I came down with the flu and ran a high fever for 3 days. It was so hard to get my stamina back. I really struggled for about a week after my fever broke and did not feel like going to the gym and working out. It was also hard to eat and keep up on my nutrition. My team was really helpful and encouraging to get me to the gym and just do what I could on that day.
How was it knowing that you’d have people with whom to work out at least one day of the week?
Like I stated above, it is always better to work out with a friend or a group as the exercise does not feel like work and time flies by as you have tons of fun. It is also good because you can push each other to achieve more and reach farther and work harder at each workout.
How does completing Zults War make you see the future and how you set goals?
I enjoyed having the 6 week challenge…. short goals are easier to stay focused on and achieve. I definitely feel more encouraged to set more goals in my life.
Did you get results?
I gained 2.5 lbs lean muscle mass, dropped from 38% to 32% (body fat percentage) and I was very happy with my results.
Did you have fun?
I had a blast and want to do it again in July:)
