On Saturday, September 29th, Courthouse Fitness and The Boys and Girls Club will be hosting the first-ever Tri4Kids youth triathlon.

You can register your child/children HERE.

$30 gets your child the race and a Tri4Kids t-shirt.
The course is built and is limited to children ages 6-12.
You can find start times and course distance HERE.

This event is important for many reason.

First of all, it is a great opportunity for kids to participate in what is perhaps their first race. For everyone, signing up, putting on a bib number, hearing the whistle blow to start and hearing the crowd cheer when you finish is a big milestone.

When I was a kid, my first big event was called The Iron Kid and it was held at the Keizer Courthouse in the early nineties. I loved flying around the corner after running through McNary Estates and seeing my family and neighbors cheer me on. Those memories stick and they grow into new goals and ever-increasing desire to have a good time moving around.

Secondly, this event directly supports the efforts of the Boys and Girls Club to give kids in our area positive and fulfilling experiences. The Courthouse is very excited to also support that effort in helping put on the Tri4Kids.

Again, you can sign up your kid(s) for the Tri4Kids HERE. Let’s make this a Salem tradition.
