This commercial is for Toyota cars. But, the message of this ad could easily be applied to fitness and what we are trying to do at the Courthouse. We are trying to go places, reach goals, see and experience new things. We are trying to discover something within ourselves that we didn’t know was there.
Fitness, kind of like cars, is about opportunity. A good car can take us into the woods, along highways, into new cities, to concerts and races and events. We associate cars with friends and family. Cars are about going places and doing things. Just like fitness.
A fit body can carry us on calm walks and long runs. A body that is fit will take us down the road on a bike and down rivers in a kayak or raft. With a fit body, we can surf, laugh, jump, play. With a fit body and a fit mind, we can enjoy everything we do. We can work out and move and have fun doing it. A fit body can take us places.
This ad asks us to “go beyond everything we know and embrace everything we don’t. And once we reach our destination, let’s keep going. Because inspiration doesn’t favor those who sit still.”
This could apply to cars, but it definitely applies to fitness. Let’s go beyond what we know. Let’s try something new. Let’s dream big and go for big goals. And once we reach our goals, let’s keep going and think of new ones. Let’s keep imagining, training, and doing. Let’s have some adventure. Let’s make the normal more adventurous.
Fitness, like cars, is about freedom. Fitness is about the freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want.
