C2V 2.0 In Review
In review: it was awesome. After viewing all the photos and the GoPro video and the pictures I’ve seen from phones and cameras: it was awesome. After talking with Dino Venti and Matt Rudolph and Drew Baker and countless others who showed up: it was awesome.
The C2V 2.o was awesome.
Now, let’s talk about how awesome.
Let us start where everyone else started: with Spartan Training. Everyone killed it. It was intense. I loved watching people who had never seen or participated in Spartan diving in and going for it. Immediately after Drew Baker yelled for everyone to stop what they were doing and head to Venti’s, every growl turned into smiles. Spartan is like nothing you know. It is unique every time. It gets results. It’s awesome.
Once everyone made it over the hill and across Commercial, they were met with an awesome band. Dino Venti and Conrad Venti directed all the C2Ver’s into the Keg Carry and the Keg Press. Cars honked at their red lights. People wondered to themselves, what is going on over there and why can’t I be a part of it?
In total, 56 people took part in this C2V. And that was awesome. I loved seeing people hang out at Venti’s, eat food, drink a beer, and talk about what they can just accomplished. It was as though we were a part of a big team. We all have the same goal: a fitter Salem. We showed everyone passing on Commercial that fitness and fun are not mutually exclusive, but rather intrinsically tied together.
As we’ve said, every dime we take in with the C2V goes directly to the Friends of 2 Bridges (F2B). From this C2V, the F2B will receive a check for $560.
Here is the challenge. There will be another C2V soon and when it happens, I want to see 100 people running and jumping and high-fiving and doing push-ups and drinking beer and laughing and bringing fun and fitness through the streets of Salem. 100 people means $1000 for F2B.
We can do it. And it will be awesome when we do.
