Spartan at West: Week One

This week, Spartan Training began at the West Salem Club.

After the new Spartan room was finished, all the dust settled and the bolts were firmly placed in the walls, the ropes dragged in, the banners put up, the towels and mats and weights and med balls delivered, Spartan began at the West Salem Courthouse.

Matt Rudolph, Training Director and a Founding Father of Spartan, says that Spartan is growing and the appeal cannot be ignored. “We had to add another demo week to make sure as many people as possible could try out it out,” Matt says. “Some people did not even get a chance to try it, but they have already signed up and they are ready to go. It is very exciting.”

Spartan works. Those taking Spartan know this. They can see that it works every time Benchmark Friday comes around. They know it when they step into the Bod Pod. They know it every second of everyday when they see and feel themselves becoming more fit. Spartan is popular (it is downright packed) for this very reason. Those looking in can tell it works. Because it was designed to work.

Matt Rudolph and Drew Baker and everyone teaching Spartan are all extremely excited to see Spartan be successful, because the success of Spartan is directly tied to the success of those taking it three times a week. And those taking it have been successful. They have become more fit. They are losing fat. They are gaining lean mass. They are able to do more now than they were able to do when they started.

“Spartan is high in intensity and low in duration,” is how each Spartan battle begins. “That means that whatever you’ve got, you give it up here.”

Spartan is not easy, but it always worth it.
